Games without voice acting can succeed.

.....if they are properly made. Our very own Dink Smallwood is an example. It had no voice acting (Except in D-Mods like Cast Awakening and Counter Strike) but it was successful, at least with us, and that's why we're here.
There are also 3 games by Square Enix with no voice acting: Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve, and Parasite Eve 2. Dialogue in all of these is text. All text.
Their GameSpot scores are 10, 7.3 and 7.9 respectively.
Pretty nifty, I think, given that actors don't perform well enough in video games and are money grubbing whores.

So what do you think about voice acting in games?

Well oblivion didn't have voice acting ehh maybe that's stretching it but I do think non voice acting games can be successful the quest was an epic game with a cult following and a fake religion it had everything it needed to become a great game I personally like them.

And you can imagine their voices, kinda like reading a book and imagining the characters It's better and drags your imagination slightly farther.
Wow! A game with a religion after it! People must be frekin' crazy!

Of course they can succeed. Why, most of our game legends wouldn't exist if they didn't succeed. I don't think Atari 2600 actually has one game that has voice acting in it. Or if they do, the voice acting can't really be called "voice acting".

Yeah,I like games without voice acting better. It makes it more fun because we have to imagine the voices, this way we get voices suitable to us rather than just any voices.I think games without voice acting can be more succesful than those with.Just look at the Final Fantasy series.

The site's resident Therian (Dire Wolf, Dragon)
NieR: Gestalt/Replicant has little voice acting throughout the game(s) and some of the gameplay actually has the player sit down and read a few screens of text to continue the story (Plus Kaine's memories were a favorite of mine in the game)

I actually finished NieR a week or two ago because you kept going on about how good it was Kris And yes! It was good^^ I haven't yet started a second playthrough, is there anything new worth playing it for? Is it all the same fights?

And I absolutely loved the forest with all the text scenes! I was playing together with a friend and we kind of did the voice acting when there was none, was a really fun experience
