Is there a way to get to the Cthilmor quest w/o/ going through the Temple of Ancients? Just wondering
Yes, Temple of the Ancients is an optional area that automatically shows up after you free Cthilmor. You can also access it beforehand by collecting all the letters and stuff. It's an optional area, but without going through it, you won't get a good ending.
yeah I went down that dark well, and Fabian died, and Dertin? said he;d kill me, to release the scarab man, and it ended.
You'll get a good (great, imho lol) ending by completing the Temple, which is well worth it.
The "Dertin" was actually the Scarab Man, who was telling you he would release Jameil.
