Bug?? Where IS the well??

I've got the poison, and the criminal mind... But WHERE is the well?? I use a walkthrough when I'm really stuck, and it describes a screenlock with yellow spinners (in the upper area) before Dink gets to the well, but I see no screenlock, no spinners, and certainly no well. I'm pretty sure that I've been everywhere, and that I've done all the things required before finding the well... And the search has cost me a half nights sleep and way too many cigarettes, so PLEASE help me...
