Was just wondering
I was just wondering, if you install a D-Mod before the original Dink, will it work? Or do you actually need to install the original game before to actually get the FrontEnd/DFArc?
You won't be able to play it without any form of dink.exe, but you can rename a .dmod file to a .tar.bz2 file and manually extract its contents somewhere, provided you have a program to extract .tar.bz2 files, of course.
Where you extract it to doesn't really matter either. Once you've got your dink.exe from somewhere, you can run it with the -game parameter to make it run a D-Mod located anywhere else.

No, because 'dink' folder contains scripts for controls, graphics and sound. And dink.exe executes it.
Dinkdoodler is right, most DMODs use scripts, graphics and tiles from the original game. Unless you install all of those in the DMOD directory you need an entire install, not just dink.exe.
