I got to the top of the rim/cliff, then the NE corner. Where is the cave to find the giant slayer claw?
Also, how do I get the Goblins to let me into the castle on ice-island?

Explore the top cliff side, find the bridge and go up it, the slayer is in a cave.

You are right, but I am just learning these protocals. I thought no one answered because I had not started with a help and a question.
After going up the ramp I was up on the top of the cliff and tried to enter each dark place along the north side. I just can not find that hole.
From now on I will make the subject of each request for help a 'help, how do I..' so everyone will know that I need some help. Thanks for your reply.

I finally found it. 
It was not where the walkthru said. I LEARNED SOMETHING! DO NOT DEPEND TOO MUCH ON THE WALKTHRU! That claw enabled me to get inside the ice castle.
Is there anyway for me to ammend the walkthrough? No, I did not think so.
