Where is the hermit to buy a pick from? (if I don't want to spend all my saved money on the man on the green path.)
I don't think you can get a pick from anyone but the guy on the green path. *shrugs* I just gave him all my dough.
Actually you can! Found it out all by myself today. 
Go back through the small maze, and to the little house on the beach. If you are fully healed, the hermit will sell you a pick for 1500 gold.
If you are NOT fully healed, he will only sell you som healing potion. Buy it (about 650 gold, I think) and then talk to him again. Now you can buy the pick.
