This is the MP3 music for Joshriot's contest dmod Prelude, a very ambitious dmod in many ways, not the least for having two soundtracks, one in midi format and one in MP3. They are in fact two almost completely different soundtracks, NOT different renditions of the same songs, which is what I would've expected. As far as I can tell, the latter is only the case for 106.mid / 106.mp3, and even those are quite different.
It's been many years since I played the dmod and I don't remember anything about it, but for some reason the sentence "NEVER WILL THEY CONTROL THE MOON" popped into my mind while listening to this.
Both soundtracks are really good. I think the MP3 music is more atmospheric and probably fits the dmod better, but the default midis have more bangers among them. One of the MP3s has actual singing in it, which could still be a first in 2025, even though there have been other MP3 dmods since Joshriot originally released Prelude in 2006.
