The first thing I noticed is that the cutscenes in this DMOD feel weird. The screen transitions just happen instantly without fading to black or anything and it feels odd.

After the introduction, which features some really cheesy writing, the first area made a good impression on me. I think the Dark Forest area is quite well-designed. The screens look lovely, there are lots of enemies which at first seem tough, but also lots of hidden potions and hearts for you to find which makes things fair. There are some hidden secret paths to find and I just had a blast exploring around.

However, after crossing the river into Andor City, things take a turn for the worse...

Both the city area and the forests after feel very *square* shaped and boring...

There are tons of sprite-depth issues, some which even affect the house doors which isn't an issue in the first area at all.

The forest after the city feels particularly empty and repetitive. I know I'm repeating myself, but these areas really just feel very *square* like. Maybe it sounds weird, but you'll get it if you play through them. It's a stark contrast to the first area...

One thing I must mention is that if you like killing goblins, there are plenty of them to kill in the goblin camp and beyond!

The one and only boss fight towards the end of the DMOD is very tough as he is incredibly fast. However, if you explored around, you'll have some herb boots, a fireball spell and enough defense to make the fight manageable.

After defeating the boss, you get to explore some castle area which is also plagued with sprite placement and depth issues. At least the castle area looks more interesting than the forest before it. Unfortunately, it is rather short and there is not much to do before the demo just abruptly ends.

Overall, I would say the writing is quite so-and-so, the first area of the DMOD is really cool, but the rest of it is disappointing... I think it would have made a better impression if it just ended after unlocking the path to Andor City...

King Daniel summons Dink. Dink has to free the land of King Daniel’s brother from an evil wizard, defend the country against an invasion of goblins and destroy the goblin siege weapons.
In this D-mod you can not defeat Zagor; that is planned for the sequel.

Storyline: A very well worked out storyline and a good plot. The interaction with the human sprites is realistic and really ads to the adventure.

Map and graphics: The map is one of the good things about this D-mod. It has lots of details and never gets boring. The inside of houses is done very nicely. The cafe in the forest looks good too; it is hidden between rocks and bushes.

Music: The music is outstanding.

Good: This D-mod is a real adventure. And a really tough one too, which can be either good or not so good, depending on what you like, but there were too many enemies to my liking. It takes a lot of time to reach the level that gives you enough strength to kill the tougher monsters, as the goblins, and I could not defeat the end boss, no matter what. So I finally cheated to see the end. The humour in this D-mod is good. The way the people in the cafe in the forest react when Dink is talking to them is hilarious.

Not so good: Although the map is very good, there are sometimes a bit too many sprites on it. When there are also monsters on the screen, it becomes real crowded and you do not have any room to fight or dodge. Sometimes even walking is difficult because there are so many obstacles. You have to cheat to stand a fair change of just playing, let alone finishing, this D-mod.

Overall: A good storyline, good gameplay, and a good adventure.

Fit for: Everybody who wants to enjoy a very good D-mod and does not mind cheating.

This dmod is about Dink saving the land of... surprise... goblins!
As you can see, the story isn't too complicated, as is the whole dmod, but that's not a big deal. What I did notice is that, as binirit stated, there is some kind of feel of adventure. An adventure which doesn't last too long though.

The dmod is not easy, but I don't think it's too hard, except for the boss. You start out in the Dark Forest where you have to fight your way through armies of creatures, which is one of the harder parts of the game. After that, the game becomes easier.
There are a lot of bonuses spread out in the land, without these you're dead meat, but grab them and you'll make it eventually.

As others said the map can get crowded and you can have problems just walking around. This problem also goes away later in the game.

The dmod's nothing special really, but a nice one nonetheless

GRAPHICS 7: Hardly any new ones, but the map's nicely decorated most of the time
SOUND 6: Nothing too memorable
GAMEPLAY 6,5: Just fighting really, but it has a nice feel to it.
LASTING APPEAL 5: Not too long, about 30 minutes. The boss is nearly impossible.

OVERALL: 6,5. A nice little dmod. Unfinished though. Recommended for people who've played through all the good dmods.

Dink has to help King Daniel’s brother with some goblins.

This DMOD starts out hard… with a dark forest full of fast slimers and fast boncas, you die quickly until you realise you have to work around the edges and get as many of the potions and golden hearts lying around. After that things are a bit easier.

Graphics: Some tiles from the Skeleton DMOD, the orbs from POTA on the start screen.

Map: crowded and at times frustrating with bushes being hard, but at least the author has gone to some effort with detail which is good. Some depth dot errors

Midis: these seemed to stop after a while, nothing bad, but nothing memorable

Sounds: nothing new here.

Gameplay: unbalanced at the beginning and with the fight with Trog, other than that this DMOD is pretty much fight and fight and fight again.

Overall 7.5 out of 10.
