last time i tryed making my own engine.. It was.. less then impressive. though it was 3D.. I've never worked with a 2D one before. I dont want to mess with it yet. Sence i've already got a current working copy of it with the original source code. Though yes. Its quite buggy.As for the who would run the server. No idea. havent tested it on any other computers besides my crappy server that i stole from the schoool
But for the bugs.. for example:
4 People are fighting Boss A.
A 5th person walks into the Room.
5th person takes controle of everyone in room cept Boss A. Everyone else takes controle on Boss A at the same time. The 5th persons sprite goes away. And if you walk acorss where the Boss was. You get booted from the server. This is one of my favorite bugs. The Automatic Fireball was pretty cool too.
