Let me heat that up for you... 
i guess runescape is an alternative if you dont have money to buy games... although nowdays you dont have to. ppl just use torrents and limewire and whatnot and download ISO for free (sometimes. may be in other formats..) then you look on crack sites (sorry no drugs ) and find a serial key/crack (for those games that need them, like RoN and The Sims).

as for games that need regular subscriptions, like WoW, you might have a problem... although there are free private servers out there. (i got WoW and TBC expansion entirely for free and play WoW for free lol)

so if you can 'obtain' games for free do we need 'free' variants of everything? (or maybe an expansive variant of a free game?)

who would rather be safe and stay away from burning copyrighted (lol) discs/download of net?

BTW i'm not a big fan of runescape...
