: Do you really need a p3 800, 196MB Ram and geforce2 card 16MB in order to run PQ without slowing down. So far on my p4 1.7 mhz with geforce 4 (64MB SDRAM), 512 MB PC133 SDRAM PQ runs perfectly as well as all the dmods except baywatch.
It's reccomended because thats what it was tested on. The only reason is for the amount of graphics that need to be loaded into video ram and things that use the regular memory (which includes the graphics that can't fit into video ram).
Who cares if it runs on those computers the overall is, the more powerful, the better quality of the game.
