could you be specific about which game it was... there might be others who have had a similar problem with the same game.
I dont think you'll have to get another drive or format your hard drive with this issue and only a 10% chance that you will have to reinstall windows. We just need to find out what is conflicting in your system to keep your drive from working properly.
