no offense rice chrispy if you answered her question exactly as she needs cause i wouldnt know because 1 i didnt even read that whole post and 2 my knowledge of dvd drives is about 0 but from my experience merlin can solve any known computer issue of existence and dont call me an idiot but i would try updating the driver also arent dvd drives like 10 bucks nowadays? things on computers tend to break over time maybe the best answer would be to not bother doing all this research and software tweaking but just to replace the stinking drive
