If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
Speaking as someone who has gone from High Speed to standard dialup recently, the DN actually loads quite fast when compared to a lot of other sites. Considering how the DN is set up with the forum integrated into the main site, switching to phpbb2 or invision would be kind of counter-intuititive.
