This was meant to be a half page thingy on our cuture/subculture for english, being the only gamer in school basically I wrote my on being a gamer, but I think it turned out soooooo good im going to post it here!

I am a gamer. I live my life around computers and games off all sorts. Also being called a nerd, or geek I gain most of my general knowledge from games and off the Internet. As a gamer most of my week is dedicated to games, due to this most people find my life strange but there are many like me across the globe.
My morning consists of waking up early and playing games and chat. I find a way to use most electronic devices to play games and I never read a manual. I don’t watch TV much instead I watch anime and download any season I’d like to see. In the eyes of most people I have insane knowledge and familiarity with my computer, people gasping as I surf though my files faster then they could ever dream to with theirs.
I obsess about game releases and would prefer to play or work on my computer more then any sport. Most people see me as a junk food eating lounge lizard at home, but the truth is I hate pies, I hate soft drink I would prefer fruit, cheese, meat or bread to anything they would pig out on. As a gamer I play any type or genre of game and I feel happier, more fulfilled and experienced with each one I pass or even have experience with. I can. I find games I like more then others but usually that is because of the depth of the story or due to the openness of the game. Date means nothing to me I can play games from 1992 and have as much fun as the most recent games.
Online I am a king, ruling my domain with others like me. I have more international contacts then most people will ever meet in their lives. I could goto almost any country in the world and have a place to stay or people to meet. The Internet is my gateway, my news source the home of my web comics. Online I’ve seen and heard about more diverse topics then you have ever heard of, I talk to people; who take drugs, who play games, who despise drug use, who practice BDSM, who can have any number of hobbies or interests, I even talk to people who would hack Google for me. People say that the Internet is full of pedophiles and you cant tell who’s telling the truth, sure there may be some pedophiles but most are not, and I can tell who speaks the truth. To me the Internet is this, one group of people who are as they say on the news, and a world of people who aren’t.
My office is the place I feel most at home, in front of my computer, playing games of participating in chat. People think this is a very boring life, but it isn’t. Even if you say to me that I’m weird and strange; it doesn’t matter to me, because I know I can go online and all my contacts prove to me I’m not.
Around here people come to me about the simplest of topics; some of which are second nature to me. Sometimes I even overreact when people don’t know how to do these simple tasks and when my even my simple instructions are too complicated for them.
People think I talk about games too much; but what they don’t realize is I could talk much more if I wanted to talk. Sometimes people think I do the impossible with my computer but it is but a day’s work for me. For example I download a average of 3 gigs of data per day, people around here see me as abnormal for even being able to reach that much but other gamers get much more. I have a single philosophy when downloading games, I only download what I can’t or wouldn’t buy under regular circumstances and if I find I would buy the game I do so. To give a couple of examples I downloaded Civ4, found out I loved it and now I'm going to buy it, Another, I couldn’t find a certain game for sale anywhere so I downloaded it. I care about my computer and those of others more then almost everything else, people say to me; oh you are overreacting about this I’ve never seen it happen. But I’d like to tell them this, don’t say that until you’ve done your research. I’ve spent a whole weekend fixing my computer once. People didn’t see the point of spending that long and just said to format, or nothing about it at all, but I care about my computer.
As you can now tell being a gamer isn’t all totally about gaming but I bet you don’t really care, or see me any different, But I’d Just like to say this. I am a gamer, a nerd; But most of all I am proud. I don’t care what people think of me, I am who and what I am a gamer. I’ll say it long; I’ll say it proud; and nothing you say will change my mind. No matter the response to this report I will continue to game, continue to chat, continue to broaden my views, I shall keep listening to game Ost’s and still play almost nonstop. I shall always download as much as I possibly can and I will always, always be me. I’m a gamer, now and forever; even when I can’t keep playing them I will always be one in heart. .
