I went thru a similar experience when i was young, VaultDweller. My sisters and i used to weep over what we have lost...the sense of place.
I tried to come back home to my village (when I was old enough to afford it) but it wasn't the same anymore.
But on a happy note, i found my own place...much, much better than my old one...take heart, you'll find your way home, wherever that is later one, just don't stop searching for the pathway back...
