I've been here for a bit over 2 years (I think) and would consider myself to be one of the boards more active members. I don't think flaming n00b's is the way to go. Heck, I often send "Welcome to the DN" messages to people who have just joined our beloved community.
I think WC can be a bit too harsh on occasion, but generally speaking he only flames those who deserve it. And that often includes me.
However long you have been on this board Milo, I still see you as a relative newcomer. I don't know why, and if that offends you then I'm sorry, but that's the way things go.
I think Tal was referring (though I could be wrong) to the very fact you made a post along these lines... it strikes of superiority, and a superiority you don't have.
This board is great though, and most people are pretty chilled out. Which is nice.
