I am just starting to get into the noble art of making a Dmod. I try to find my way through various documents, FAQs and tutorials, and have posted a few questions here at the board. It seems this board works very well: I get my answers quickly, and it's friendly here. Thank you guys!
But:
I find that there is something I need that is not here (at least I think it's not): A Dmodding for dummies document. SO I WILL TRY TO MAKE ONE, but I need YOUR help through this forum.
This is what I have used so far:
WinDinkedit.
Cedit (its at my computer, but haven't really used it).
The official FAQ (Snyder)
Dmod help (Anders Hovne)
Tutorial 1 (from the game)
And of course I have been looking into the DinkC reference (Shutes).
What I find is that things like the FAQ is very basic. That's good. But then the DinkC reference is very advanced, and it is definately NOT well organised from a newbie readers point of view. And it seems that a lot of things on this site suffers from the fact that it is written by the experienced without having the fact in mind that a lot of the potential dmod newbies don't understand a thing of what it's all about.
What I would like to see is a document that can take a beginnmer from scratch to finishing his or hers first dmod, step by step. It will have to be both very basic, AND very detailed, and that would mean that it would need to be very well written and well organised.
I will try to do this over some time. But I might have to ask you guys "silly" questions, and you need to give me detailed answering. OK? Fine!
See you soon!
