If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
The scroll doesn't self destruct (well, only if you hit the chest, leave the screen before touching it and then re-enter the screen).
Check to see if the scroll is in your magic inventory. If it is, arm it and try it out on the fire trees. Any sort of fire trees. As for the magic ones... hmmm I can't remember what to do there. I thought the scroll helped them too, just that water magic did nothing to them.
