The Dink Network

I have recently put Dink onto a computer with windows 2000. I installed everything normally and the original game functioned fine when played as did the half finished dmods which I tried afterwards. The problem came when I tried to use the dink editor, which started to open by displaying a black screen and the waiting hourglass mouse icon for about a second, and then immediately shut down with no errors or notice. I tried running windinkedit and it loaded fine, I opened one of my dmods which also gave me no trouble, but as soon as I clicked one of the developed (red) squares it crashed displaying a uselessly obscure error message for less then a second and then closing down. This happens every time

I am a loss of what is happening so any suggestions would be cool.

btw: I was logged into the admin account which is the same account that I installed it from.
