You did pretty much get the British system right, but it has recently changed, due to the release of Spiderman.
U - Universal - suitable for all
PG - Parental Guidance
12a - may only be seen if you are 12 or over OR an adult is with you and has deemed it appropriate.
15 - obvious
18 - duh
People complained that Spiderman should be a PG, so younger children could see it, so censors created a new rating.
It's not as good as T2, though obviously it has a lot more explosions and smashing through walls and stuff, which is good. The Terminator "idea" isn't furthered though.
It should be a 15, in my opinion.
