Having the deadline at the end of the month does actually stimulate me to work on it.
Same here. Also, I'm not really in a state where I can say anything about how much extension I will need, if any. I think I probably will need some, but maybe not... I think planning to finish two weeks before the deadline is a good idea, but in this case that was not possible for me (if only because I missed the start of the contest by a month).
I think it's a good idea to extend the deadline once, and decide shortly before it with how much. Or if there are enough D-Mods ready before the deadline, just don't extend it. The others can of course still finish their D-Mod, but they missed the deadline, so aren't competing. That would be only fair.
