I was referring mainly to the New Testament, there are some good lessons in it Are all of them good? No. Some? Yes.

Also, it isn't religion that corrupts people, people already corrupt other people. Take you, for instance, Predisher. You're an donkey who insults everybody regardless of religious belief, and when someone else calls you out for your donkeyry and hypocritical actions, you retort be calling them hateful donkeys and hypocrites. Did religion make you this way? No. You're an atheist, and therefore don't believe in anything.

Now, for counterpoint: I was raised Baptist Christian, I was raised to treat people as I want to be treated, I was raised to be polite to everyone and, if absolutely necessary, defend myself against personal attacks.
Now, I was raised to be a good kid, I never was an donkey to any other people until I started Middle School. Over time, I observed how other people acted.
These other people were Atheists and other non-Christians. At this point, I could argue that their corruption comes from their religious backgrounds and use that as proof that Christians are at the very least more morally sound that other people. But a person with heavy religious bias would say that, not me. Anyway, I observed their behavior, emulated it, and learned how to act like an donkey when necessary. It's a survival tactic, it drives people you don't want around you away.

My main point, if you didn't bother to read all of that, is that religion does not corrupt, it's what corrupt people can use to spread corruption. If a person holds power, whether that power is extreme wealth, or high standing in religious or political positions, then they will abuse that power to get what they want. It's a sad truth that makes me, at the very least, slightly misanthropic towards humanity.
