I know from experience that going to a site to only advertise another is extremely annoying.
The site that I'm a mod on has a forum dedicated strictly for links to related sites, and it's usually Shiro, the site owner, who decides if the site can be linked on that sub-forum.
Now, a realistic way to advertise the forum without seeming like an idiot would be to casually mention DS as one of your favorite games and go from there.
