I don't mean being a nerd about video games or Star Wars. I mean about things you study in school like math, English, or history. Do you read James Joyce or solve advanced math problems for fun? Do you talk about them with your friends when you don't have to?
I was a nerd about religion and philosophy, though they didn't really teach those at my school. Actually I did have a couple of classes that were basically philosophy. I guess I was a nerd about programming too in junior high, but then I wandered away from that for a long time. And I guess I was sort of about science. Hmm, I probably could have been considered a music nerd too.
I consider "nerd" a compliment, btw.
