I have at least 8 consoles too... But I did get them as I upgraded them of course. Startd with NES and Sega 8 bit, upgraded to SNES, bought a Gameboy. Went to PSX and N64 (boy this one was a mistake), then to PS2 and Gamecube (another mistake, aside from Tales of Symphonia). Bought a DS and PSP, but not going to get 3DS anytime soon. Also have a Wii, Xbox360 and PS3. Aside from the Nintendo consoles after the SNES, I've played on every last one of them for many, many hours so it wasn't a waste

But collecting stuff is cool too. People collect stamps that are worth hundreds of dollars, which is ridiculous in my eyes, but pretty cool in theirs. Values differ across the world and also according to each person's personal sitation. So, Skull did have/has it bad in his country and in his social situation for sure which means his values are skewed towards the poor side of society. And this is definitely not only Skull but many people in a similar situation. People like DD or even me have had a fairly easy life, no money issues, good education, ... So obviously our values are different as well. There's no blame to be put on any of us for living the life we've been given.

Fact is, not one of the people on this forum are in the position to change anything. So blaming or despising people for their wealth is silly and just reeks of jealousy. There IS a reason to be jealous for sure, but take that out on those who caused your bad situation in the first place. Could be the parents, could be the government, could be whatever, but it sure as hell isn't the people on TDN that caused life to suck so much

If anything, I think we can in some way imagine or relate to what the other side of society goes through and I think pretty much anyone looks at the news of the famine in Africa and prays to god it will change for them. But realistically, not buying a console is NOT going to provide extra food for them
