Personally, I had an especially hard time making friends when I was young, because I was home schooled and I was not allowed to use the Internet. It wasn't until I just told them what to do with themselves and left one day that I began to have friends. Now, although I may be just a hair above vagrant, moving about from town to town, state to state, I am truly happy. I make lasting friends everywhere I go.
Interesting; my early years were very similar and I am also socially comfortable and happy. Yet I suspect we are worlds apart.
