All I get from the worm is that it's very fast. Is there a net or a technique I just use to catch that crazy worm?

Use the jug in the well by the wizards house and catch a fish. It's been a long time since I played but try cooking the fish in the wizards fireplace and give it to the guy on the bridge, he should give you a net. Btw, you may need to talk to the bridge guy once before you cook the fish. I think thats how it goes.
