moving/copying files based on list
I need to move a series of files based on a list of file names (text document). Does anyone know of a program that can do this easily? A batch program would be nice sort copy all files in the list from directory e: to directory c: type of thing.
im sure i could make one. but what is the point?
I've got like 80,000 files (jpg images) of which I only need 5,000 based on a list.
I've burnt the 80,000 onto a DVD - 1.5 GB, but I'd like to copy the 5,000 I need onto my hard drive - and having a nifty program read the list and do the copying would make my life easier

so the list has 5000 lines of file names, and does the dvd not have any subfolders? or is it more difficult than that? and what the hell are you doing with that much smut? anyway email me the list and instructions of what you need done im pretty sure i can make it for you.
It can be done via a batch file after all - I asked my brother (who is a project manager/programmer)... he asked around and found this link....

I changed the D|xcopy to F|xcopy and it worked. Yeah, baby! Although it is slow... maybe due to my laptop's DVD drive... I dunno.
And these pictures aren't smut... just for the record. I have exported an entire movie as single frames, but only need to keep certain frames based on edit points (first and last frames of each separate shot)
But thanks for the offer.
