The Dink Network

Hello everybody.

I'm in the chat daily (unless I am sleeping without leaving the PC on or is on vacation or whatever) and I notice something: It's never in use. So, unless people start using that place at all, I choose to resign as "head of chat" next weekend. I'll let you know my action by then. Whatever redink1 or Tal (or whoever it concerns) then decide to do about it (hire someone new or just abandon the whole idea of a chat) is none of my concern. If I choose to go, it'll probably be the end of me at this network. I'm already quite "dead" here, but the chat is(was) sorta keeping me in contact with some people.. however, if I leave the chat, it's probably a leave from here too.

(I don't bother signing in to post, believe this is me, or beleive it not... heh )

It's crazy. I tried to post once but it wouldn't let me post as me but only as someone named chaotic. Then when trying to get my own name back, the site thought I was new and said I needed to sign up. Btw, this is desertgrl.

Eh, well.. if you come into the chat, you can ask me to Op myself or something, that should be proof enough, if you need it... then I can tell you it was actually me who posted it... however, no point, since nobody cares!

I think your account can be changed into an account of someone who was online at the same moment. This means I can be Glennglenn, AS or SabreTrout, but I am really magicman

Eh, I try to get the chat open often enough, but I was k-listed (banned) from freenode for a while there... heh heh... But nowadays, it seems whenever I log on, it's empty. It's depressing.

You go sometimes. But what we say then could might as well have been said using instant messaging services. A chat is a community-thing, and the community ain't using it, so I'm going to close it unless something really changes.

But the thing is, for people like me, who are wary of just IM'ing just anyone who's online, the chat works. Just as a question, how much effort does it take to run the chat? I'm not trying to be snide or anything, I'd just really like to know.

It's no effort really. I just don't want to bother anymore if nobody will use it anyway. Plus, it'll be a nice reason for me to leave here for good.

Hmm, oh yeah.. that piece. Uh, well, I reckon I've gotta find someone to take over that too.. else it's history. (Well, I won't take it away, if nobody takes over, I just won't maintain it anymore)
