How customizable on these boards?
think we could add something like a post count for each user?
I know several boards that use it, and then reward users with a specail icon after a sertain number of posts (ex: 1 star at 100 posts, 2 stars at 250, 3 stars at 500, 4 stars at 1,000, and some uber symbol at 5k).

Yes, but then something could happen just like with the rankings. It would come down to greed and people would post post messages like "Ok, thanks" which would add to the total posts. And don't say me they don't, because I've seen it happen on boards and I think the fellows here would just do that - those greedy Dinkers

Yes, but then something could happen just like with the rankings. It would come down to greed and people would post post messages like "Ok, thanks" which would add to the total posts. And don't say me they don't, because I've seen it happen on boards and I think the fellows here would just do that - those greedy Dinkers

true true. they'd definitely need to have the main board only show the topics not the entire threads...
but the points is who cares if we have more 1 sentence posts?
atleast we would have more board activity!

We also had more file activity but most of them were to get higher in the rankings. Don't get me wrong, not all of them were bad but I'm not sure if it'll work out fine if we do a rankings for the messages on the boards. It could be nice though..

I just figured out how to put the boards in to nonthreaded mode...
I like it. More like the boards I'm used to.
The point about board activity (regardless of whether it is for rank or what) is that more people are posting at a time. More people who can answer questions quicker! This has to help the community as a whole.
