The huge asteroid "2005 YU55" is gonna pass between Earth and moon in about 5 hours. It's dimensions are about 400-500 metres, which is pretty darn big and it should be pretty bright, too.

Check it out, if you have the chance.

I read here that you'll still need a telescope to see it. Too bad. I remember Hale-Bopp. It was fun and kind of eerie to see it in the sky just by looking.

Dagnabbit! I always miss out on these "once in a lifetime" events.

Not really once in a lifetime. These things happen quite often, actually. The last asteroid to come quite close to Earth was as close as 2009.

Still, dagnabbit! I need to pay more attention to science news.

I wish I could have seen it! dang clouds... I had my telescope ready and everything.

Someone take a pic of it for me unless it crashes into us, then I'll get an even better view.
