Hello there.
I haven't played Dink in a while and now, after changing to Windows 7, I wanted to play again. I managed to run it but from time to time, the colours change and it looks very ugly. Normally, I would just open the map whenever this occurs but in most of the dmods there is no map so I would have to play on the buggered up colours or save and run the game everytime. My windows 7 is a home basic 64 bit. Any suggestion on what I should do to fix this problem? Thanks.

Never had this problem, but I always play in windowed mode. Perhaps try that? (I'd recommend always playing in windowed mode so the graphics actually look pretty )

Find and download freedink. I had the same problem. After you downloading, unzip it and copy everything in the folder where you installed Dink.

Thanks for the quick replies!
toothpaste, I found freedink at http://www.dinknetwork.com/file/gnu_freedink/ and I did as you instructed me to do and copied everything in the file I installed Dink and the same things keeps happening. I run DinkFrontEnd in the compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows Me, 256 colours and in 640x480 screen resolution. Anything I'm doing wrong?

And um, I don't actually know how to run it in window mode so would someone tell me please?

Windowed mode won't help. I forgot to mention, there are two freedink ziped files. One with '.bin' extension, and the other one with '.tar' (whatever that is). You need to find both of them and do what I already writed. Also, find dfarc 3.4. Eerything should be on the same site. Dfarc icon let's you to select what dmod you want to play (one of those you installed). You can also select windowed mode there, but you won't need it. Finally, use freedink icon to start the game, not dink.exe

Let me heat that up for you...
I have Windows 7 Home 64 bit, and I run "dink.exe" under compatibility mode for Windows XP. WOrks for me. Remember, dink.exe is the game, so any compatibility settings you are going to try have to be put on dink.exe, not dfarc.
