I cannot find the Earth Spirit anywhere. I have gone to the dust storm and am looking for hill to climb. Using the "fly" feature, I've walked through the entire dust storm but cannot find it. Where EXACTLY is it and what does it look like??? I've tried talking to the trees but it's not working either. Thanks!

You must first find the Air Spirit and learn storm magic. To do this find the guy near the hut where the priest Cthunik is, talk to him, and give him some water (if you don't have any buy some from the travelling merchant down south - he sells cures etc, and one of these is just a bottle of water) So you give this guy his water and he tells you about the Air Demon who will teach you new magic if you can make her laugh. Go see the Air Spirit, talk to her, then go find a little magician in the South West and talk to him, you show him water magic and he teaches you a limmerick which you can go tell the Air Spirit. She gives you Storm magic. Go find a ring of spikes and use the storm magic on them. The Earth Spirit is realeased. Now... there is a tree spirit who will talk to you to give you hints in all of this, but first you must water magic on about 15 dead trees to make them grow leaves... and promise not to use burn any more trees.
