Wonderful start to a new character, it is well drawn and the colours used are not over powering. Nice shading too but would like to see some 'rounding' on his legs as they look a little flat at times, unlike his arms which look great. When walking unarmed he moves fluidly and all walking directions are included (diagonals included) as is an idle sequence for every direction. There is however, no push, punch or die sequence for Alex and I feel the file would be much more usable with these included.

Although there is a really huge amount of work gone into the creation of this character (and I think that it is a very commendable effort), it is however unfinished. This character lends itself to being further developed due to the missing sequences that are necessary to a "Dink game". I consider push, the ability to arm fists and a death sequence quite high on the list. The push sequence I would like to see included, only because when reaching an edge or something that the character can't pass, it will turn into dink and push, therefore ruining the effect of having created the new character. To be immortal and die as Dink when you are another character is also a bit of a spoiler so a nice death sequence would only enhance this file further and I feel fists are an integral part of a dink experience.

There is also no shadows. I think these are essential to any completed sprites/sequences created. We know how much you dislike adding shadows IPD but they really make the sprite 'sit down' into the dmod and not look like the character is floating.

Included is one weapon, a nice shiney new axe! The graphics are good for this but Alex really slows down when walking with it armed. I felt this sequence was a little clumsy compared to the nice fluid movement of the walking sequence and felt it could do with some touching up (so hes not lifting his knees so 'carefully' as he walks) and a little more speed added would be great. (The pill bug outran me and it was hard to corner him to kill due to speed issues when axe was armed).

A really excellent effort IPD, I give this file an 8.9 - only because of the missing sequences that I personally consider essential to my Dinking experience.
