decent music
Can you give me some usefull info about finding midi's that would actually go with a dmod story? There's plenty of midi's out there, but I can't find 'rpg' music, or how should I call it? I've tried, and I've failed.
please help!
(I don't sound desperate now do I? huh? I don't mean to ... awe, man)
please help!

Look here for all your music needs
Or you could go to a gaming site, peruse the list of games filtered by genre and look for midis for each game individually.

Here is a nice site. Look in the top right and find "MIDI Search".
That midi search just sends me to google. And those midis are mostly real songs so not very RPG-like

which one? I'd love to find music that's not made by any famous artist, that's not from a song, I'd like you know - background music. But I'm not sure if that's available, though.
EDIT: I don't actually mean music that's from an rpg, but music that's suitable for an rpg. Sorry I didn't make that point clear. My mistake

If you want background music, then VGMusic is exactly what you're looking for. I used to grab all sorts of great and obscure stuff from there. The only problem is finding stuff that's good. Thankfully, they're midis and won't be time-consuming to download and browse.
Their "newly submitted files" page is total crapshoot, but I've found some of the best stuff there that for some reason, slips through the cracks. Also, usually go for stuff labelled as a remix or arrangement, as they often sound better.
I also have a ton of midis on my hardrive. Nowhere near as many as I had before my old one died, but still a ton. If you're looking for something in particular and can describe it, I can take a look in my own archive. However, if you can't do that, you're just better off browsing VGMusic.
