The Dink Network

I am in the Deadlands, and there is no big dragon to kill. This is my second time playing this, and I am sure I have covered all the territory several times and killed everything that I was supposed to kill and found all the potions, etc. I can get to the spot where I believe I remember the big dragon being (northwest corner like the walkthrough says) and there is nothing there. What have I missed? Without kiling the big dragon, I can't tell the goblin I did it and can't get the metal pass for the rest of the game.
