decapitated duck..what next?
Lost Forest Romp
Is that the end? Or have I missed something? lol..like Dink says..
Does he meet up with the girls again?
Electra?
Was the Dink Smallwood sign supposed to return?
Is there an end to that forest trail?
So many questions..so little time lol

You killed the duck? I think that means you can no longer win the game; you need it later. I didn't realize you could actually kill it...
You should have found a riddle on a paper; it's actually a "treasure map", leading you to the next part of the game. Count the trees; don't expect to enter the same screen if you move down, then up.

While decapitating the duck isn't what you need to do, you can get a new one simply by returning to the screen you found him on (the one with the box).
Yes, I knew that thanks. I simply 'died' on purpose, which was also useful to get the bomb, as long as I didn't save.
I just ran out of ideas about what to do with the duck.

yeah shevek.
if you talk to the duck (this is the one in the box) you get a line that specifically mentions beheading him. Tried just cutting his head off so he just ran about..that didn't work so I obliterated him.
The pillars mentioned are at the start of the long straight forest walk, right? That's where you end up as I interpret the poem. The duck is 'the offer'- a sacrifice. I counted a dozen song lyrics, first dodging the enemies cos it was easy either to have the duck killed or inadvertently kill it myself. I kinda knew I needed the duck to be alive. After I decapitated the duck I just went on a killing spree, choosing which ones to attack by going up/ down (the lines in the poem again, say this) to clear screens. It was a good way to power up. But it didn't help me solve it.
You finished it? How did the duck help you?

You have to walk down until you've counted 12 trees (that's 6 screens), then two screens up, then down again until you reach a screen with a pillar and a dying slayer. Then you go up until you reach the toll bridge. If you don't have the duck with you, don't try to cross it. Instead, return. If you picked up the sack of grain before, that will be easy; it will also help you to get the duck to the toll bridge.

ahh Thanks for that. Maybe I should have thought more about the interpretation of the words in the poem to decipher the correct solution. Perhaps I was tired at the time. I guess there's a lesson in that: to take your time, attack the problem when you are fresh, think some more inside and outside the box. Just keep trying things and (although tedious) dying with protected handy items like bombs to start over with!
