Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much interest in dmods. Nothing sadder than seeing a dmod thread only getting one or two replies in the span of several days... Of course there are people who play and don't comment (the majority of players even), but the lack of comments still translates to a rather pitiful number of players overall.
I myself aren't helping- I haven't played any of the recent dmods for more than a few minutes each, and probably won't, even if I keep intending to.

~10 players for a romp, 10~30 playes for a quest, 30~70 players for an epic. Something like that maybe? No way to *really* tell, without knowing how many times each dmod gets downloaded.
