~Dividing it into two D-MODs,1 with the old story/stuffs a little bit new stories/stuffs +nother with new stories/stuffs with a little bit old story/stuffs.

You ask Redink1 to.... what? And why Redink1 if Seth made the original thing? Why even ask for permission if the whole game is free and open-sourced anyway, and a few Dink 2 attempts (like Windemere) have been made already?

You're just adding stuff instead of making Dink 2 from scratch? Is this going to be a Dmod that's a sequel to the original, or a whole new engine?

What he could do is to, make the original game a few hours longer.

The idea of adding stuff to Dink isn't that bad (though it's not exactly new), but I honestly doubt you have the skills or endurance to finish such a project. Why not make a small dmod first, gain some experience before moving on to bigger things...? There have been many people hyping in the past for all kinds of amazing stuff, none of them actually managed to finish anything.

You don't need permission. The project is free and open-source now. Though Seth would probably like it if you told him anyway.

Also, I am not interested. Kinda sounds like a mess, and I'm working on my own thing already.

Everyone interested could write some code, and throw it in a hat to be drawn out randomly and inserted into a DMOD. Don't kids play a game like that? One kid starts a story and gets it going, then turns the storyline over to another player.

It could really get interesting, like Dink Is up to his armpits in alligators and all of a sudden he is observing that the tablecloth is made from finest Irish linnen, and so forth.

Sounds like a blast to me.

On a slightly more serious note, if anyone's interested in expanding the game, here's some info taken from the original game concerning PortTown:

PortTown:
-Frequented by pirates
-Pirates battling with Northern Trading Co.
-Libby's new bossy boyfriend from there
-Aby, gossips' older sister is there

Mainly this is from the Gossipy girl and one of the wandering dudes.

Could be pretty interesting if it's done right. Dink somehow involved in the battles between the Pirates and Northern Trading Company would be cool. Could also add in Charlie with Dink's Home quest and find some use for the unreachable Northern Area with the building.

Could make it into a smaller Dmod with just the right two islands if the idea of modding the original game is too much.

Very good Endy. Some nice ideas.

But remember "United we stand,divided we fall";so if we unite we can make Endy's idea come true..?

I actually do hope to make a real Dink 2 at some point in the future, maybe using my new Novashell engine. Have you looked at it? It will make making a giant RPG easier and faster than using the Dink engine!

Actually... experience holds that it is much easier to make d-mods on your own rather than coordinate with someone else. Just make your own.

I had a look at that Novashell engine a few months back, it looks really cool. It comes with a few sample demos, one is with unmodified graphics from that super-cool game Dink Smallwood. (It actually says that!) And it has a scrolling screen and everything. But the talking system is a bit unusual I reckon.

Please tell me when it comes.

Dickheads these days know no bounds! For firks sake, if one was truly a Dink-aholic as they claim, they would know about other attempts to "make dink better".

BUT...

...there is still hope for mentally challenged folk who believe they are from Terris if they but follow these simple-to-grasp words of advice from Schnapper:

1.)Run up the side of a precipitous cliff as fast as you possibly can
2.)When you have reached the brim of the cliff, Jump
3.)Attempt at least a double front-flip
4.)Hope that there were many treacherous rocks, breakers and starved sharks waiting to welcome to Davy-Jones Locker

EXCLUSIVE HINT!! If you are still alive after this, select another cliff and start-over for a fun-filled activity!
