I care because I love to play the dmods, and see what people do with the game

(even if they are considered "bad" - and personally, I do not think they should get negative points, how is anyone to learn to create wonderful epics, if they fear the negative points tsk.)

Well, many have got bad reviews and negative points, me included, but I don't think it's the end of the world. If you're doing sometinng wrong and no one points that out to you, you can't learn anything from the mistakes you've made.

Whereas, if you are pointed out what you've done wrong, you can improve that.

I agree. So I made a time machine, and went into the past about two weeks and changed the entire rankings system so there aren't any more points. Really, do a search for Rankings on this very board.

Ever since I dropped the whole point thing, ehasl has been bugging me to upload ABCD again. I won't, simple because it is horrible and completely purposeless, ehasl knows it, and he doesn't want to do anything about it. If he makes a remake, that has actual gameplay or value, thats fine, I'll upload it. As it is... no.

hmmmm..... wondering how many *other* files are solely on individual's sites and *not* here at all? Anybody know? Wouldn't it be great to do links to them?

And, speaking of links, the link to solutions that used to be up top of the chat board was great, then we could point up there and say heh for a walkthru, just click that link A wonderful thing for those of us (yes me of course) who can't remember the url. lmao

Agreed. But! lets keep in mind we want them to *improve* their dmod's ~~ not throw in the towel, so we need something that's helpful not harsh, so that there is no fear in the learning ~ after all, they could be the author of the next great adventure

Tsk! noooooo Christian (((DUH BACKATCHA))) I meant on THE list of dmods available. (so you don't have to look all over the place to see exactly what all was out there) geeez..

I think about 11 or so D-Mods have been taken down by the author's request... Jveenhof ditched like 3 of them, Tim Maurer ditched 5 or so, Christiaan dumped a couple, and Ehasl ditched 1.

As for other D-Mods not on The Dink Network... off-hand: BayWatch 2, The Porno D-Mod, Goblin Wars Demo (it wasn't zipped right, and I guess he's working on the full version now). Thats about it.

BayWatch 2 wasn't uploaded because Vilius didn't improve in his D-Mod skills AT ALL from BayWatch 1, which was pretty bad. Really, when you have the bridge sprites hard, massive hardness bugs all over the map, and so on... it simply isn't worth uploading. I gave him some feedback on how he could fix it so I'd upload it, but he hasn't sent me another version.

The Porno D-Mod... I think that's self-explanatory.

I can't think of any others.

I love DMODs also, I have had great fun playing games that other dinkers say are really bad. In fact I try to play them allno matter what is said about them. BUT, ABCD etc. is really, really, really bad . It's not even a game. I don't exactly remember, but it seems like all he does is say his name and walk on one blank grass screen. Is this right or did I exagerate it's worthlessness in my mind? Someone tell me if I'm wrong. Please, ehasl no offense.

Um... I was thinking of you as Jveenhof's evil clone or something. Jveenhof dumped Might and Magic and another one, if I remember right, as well as the ones he dumped recently... I confused his prior act of dumping with you.

True indeed. Constructive remarks. That's why you should always give examples, IMO. Writing only about the negative things isn't good, because every author put a lot of work in it, and he's proud of what he has done. I'm always trying to find the good things in a file even if the D-mod sucks (excusé la mot), 'cause in almost every D-mod there is a good thing.
