Best Dink version
There's many versions of Dink. There is 1.08, there is freedink and theres DinkHD. So what do you deem to be the best dink version for the optimal dink and addon experience?
I'd say that 1.08 and/or freedink seem best for compatibility.
the one that used warcraft music
For me, it's FreeDink. It has got better compatibility than Dink HD and it's modern so it avoids potentinal issues with 1.08's age.
I'm not sure what sort of compatibility issues you'd run into with dinkhd now. I don't think it's been heavily tested since being updated, but I think it may have sorted some of the issues it had before.
Some D-Mods have problems/freezes with DinkHD.
I like 1.08 the best I guess. Always used it as a kid. Used FreeDink a little, including for PSP, but I think I like 1.08 with DFArc2 best.

FreeDink is currently the best one. Multi-platform support, backwards compatibility, supports modern systems, other features such as gamepad support actually works compared to 1.08 (Only up to XP).
gamepad supports works on 1.08 just fine.
I've personally tested the 1.08 myself on Windows 7 and 10 and no, it does not work.
yes it does
but it doesn't surprise me that 10 doesn't run it since 10 sucks

FreeDink. Just like 1.08, but better.
DinkHD is also a lot more compatible with dmods since the last time Seth updated it. If I were to make a dmod right now, I'd create it with FreeDink, but try to get it to work with DinkHD also.

I am grateful for your responses. And thanks Beuc for a wonderful version of Dink.
If you haven't tried DinkHD recently, give it a shot.
Being able to save/load state anywhere created a lot of issues originally. DMOD authors did so many strange (and wonderful?) things... made this a quite difficult feature to properly support! I think stuff works pretty well now though.
The IOS/Android versions are still seeing some downloads, (checks...) hmm, about 30,000 last year.

We are also grateful for DinkHD, no doubt. It's a major improvement over 1.08
No, he's using Windows XP which 1.08 supports. He refuses to use FreeDink nor DinkHD (or even upgrade his potato)
