Hello there dinkers. As you may be aware, I'm 14 years old. And after the vacation ends, I'll be in the 8th grade which is really stressful because the result on my exam at the end of the 8th grade will decide my future. But let's not talk about that now, because I already have plans for that.
I wanna tell you about my family, because i trust you guys you'll understand me. I just have to get this off my chest and you are the best community I've ever been part of.
So first I wanna talk a little about my dad. He used to gamble back in his days, which did bring him a lot money problems which he confronts even now. As my profile page would suggest. My parents are divorced, but I live with my mother. My mother is so lovely and she always cares about me. I can't say my dad isn't the same. But they both have a small problem. They hate each other.Every time I meet with my dad in vacations him and his family ask all kinds of questions about the "other side" (if I can call it like that). And the same happens when I go back home to my mom's. They just put me in the middle and don't get me wrong. I love them, but I just want school to end and go to college already where I hope life would give me less hard times.
And then there's my brother. He's 21 years old. He's the best brother i've ever had(And the only one actually). We weren't too keen on spending time with each other when our parents were togheter mainly because of our age.But now everytime meet with him and his girlfriend(Which is a wonderful girl), we all 3 are soo happy to see each other. And now for the last part. I'd like to share something about my step parents. My step dad which is engaged to my natural mom is a very friendly guy. I'm happy too when he comes home. Umfortunately he's going to work in Saudi Arabia for the next 2 years.
As for my step mom which is married to my natural dad....I feel she's not so keen on me being part of the family. But it's ok, cuz I ain't keen on her being my dad's wife either. It aint my problem anyway.
Right now I'm in the second week of the last month of the summer vacation and now I've been given the choice of going back home to my mom or staying one last week with my dad and his not-so-loving wife. I chose of course to stay with my grand parents in my hometown just one more week. Now I'm not sure If I chose the right option. Because it is one carved by me.
All in all, even if my brother isn't with me all the time, or even if my family isn't so calm and lovely and loving, I know I'll always have you guys. And thank you for warmfully accepting me in this community.
Thank you.

Quite a heart felt speech, my parents are divorced too, but I have to ask, why did your split up? You don't need to answer if you don't want to I can understand if it's too personal or you don't know. Also since you have shown feelings of the internet, you shall be imprisoned for 50 & banished from the DN, JK.

The guy with the cute D-Mod.
Sad to hear a story like that, mate. Nothing makes me more upset than when a couple's issues spill out and affect the life of their child. I've witnessed it first hand; my fiancee's parents never even got married and they split when she was pretty young. They often talk about each other in the most vulgar of ways, it's really quite uncomforting.

Honestly, I'll never understand how you can go from having a kid with someone to harbouring pure hatred - it happens so much these days. But perhaps that's just my ever-sheltered "outdated" idea of love.

Glad to hear you seem to be doing your best to enjoy life though, mate. Even though they're tough at times (yours particularly), try to make the most of your teenage years. I know it's a cliche, but you only get to live them once.

why did your split up?

Because of my dads gambling problems(which thankfully are now gone) and my mom and dads short temper and limited logic. Complicated. I know

Huh, glad to see that we still have some sort of camaraderie here

Sorry to hear about your family situation, but it sounds like you are doing a pretty good job of handling it. Beginning to set up boundaries with family members, especially those who are kind of toxic, is very necessary at your age. I'm glad you have some good people in your life.

My opinion on some of the people

Skurn: The drunken uncle or the weird cousin that no one wants to talk about, but we have to bring him to family gatherings when he messes up the attic too much.

Kris: The artistic nerd who is bullied by people at school & solves his problems by making things in his room.

Punisher: The bigoted grandfather, but since he might be young. The bigoted uncle, if that's a thing too.

Scratcher: The helpful brother who is forced to take sides all the time

Striker: The father who doesn't care what we do as long as we don't burn down the house or commit too big a felony

MsDink: The grandmother who offers helpful advice & gets us to stop arguing for about a minute.

I will just let this be the current list I have that hopefully no one will get offended at

Tag - Umm.. tag, you're it?
You seem so mature for 14 Bluedy - grats on how well you seem to have handled something that was entirely out of your hands yet effects you every day.

I really hate that piggy in the middle stuff, its hard to stop from their side too cause they are emotionally envolved and will take time to change.

A msdinky secret weapon for that is one little sentance that stops people dead in their tracks - when they start on the "other side' as you so beautifully called it, looked a little surprised and say "Ooh, well they only ever say the nicest things about you.." and leave it at that and walk away while u can (it usually floors them) - no matter what, use it every time they start and its amazing how it stops the nasties like a click of the fingers, it also lets them know you arent a carrier pidgeon with news from 'the wild' every time you go away. msdinkys secret weapon is now out there gawd i will miss it lol.

<3 Best of luck huh

Why not make a dmod about BDSM or something? It'd fit you Skurn & it'd make possibly good publicity for the DN.

Hey Skurn, Striker must want to be in the dmod, he's just trying to make it seem like he doesn't want it since he has secret desires that no one should know about. Also Tal could fit in nicely.

I'm sorry you've had to deal with stuff like that, Bluedy. I've only recently begun to realize that my normal family life was less normal and more ducking dysfunctional. The things we go through in life may hinder or even cripple us, but when we understand that these things are superficial in the long run, they can be reconciled, or gotten rid of, or even accepted if they taught you a valuable lesson.
I am almost 21 years old, and I have to re-learn everything about what it means to live in today's society and how to function in it with some degree of success.
I sincerely hope that you do not have to go through what I am currently going through, that the lessons you learn in life carry you far, and don't rush to grow up, you're still young, you have the easiest part of life to go through, so go out and have fun, responsibly, and try to get a job that you can enjoy and possibly make a career out of. Experiment, throw caution to the wind on occasion, and hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.
You can do the thing.

I always figured there was something like that going on with you; it's good you're getting started on the re-learning part at a young enough age. That part's a real... she-dog, but very worth it.
