New File: Turn-Based Fight
Looks like we have yet another new d-mod author in our midst. ArcdukShrimp has released Turn-Based Fight, a turn-based combat demo using the base of an unfinished d-mod.
Look for the d-mod under "Christopher Journey" after unpacking the .dmod file.

I was really into making this D-mod go on, I did a lot of planning and stuff but
I'm too old (24 years old) to go into making d-mods...
Damn, you're right on that! You're practically dying of old age as you speak.
Anyway, I enjoyed the little breadcrumbs of storylines you had in the village. This seems like it would be a really enjoyable full dmod, so I hope you do get back to it. Eventually, you'll become too feeble to drag your fingers across the keyboard, and then it's really too late.

Haha, I'm twenty three (twenty four in a month!)... which while I don't feel all that old, I do feel like I need to prioritize my time in other areas. I still haven't even got around to trying these new D-Mods that have been coming out, which makes me feel kind of bad. But I will find time eventually to check them out!
I would like to make a decent demo of my own D-Mod as well some day, since it seems like I probably won't ever get around to fully completing it. I hate releasing it unfinished, but I did put a lot of work into it, and I think what's there is still worth playing. I want a "last boss" in there though even though it's unfinished, but that has yet to be created. Well, maybe some day!

I know what you mean. I didn't intend to make my last two dmods. I wondered what it would look like if dink were shot out of a canon. So I implemented it just to satisfy my curiosity. Once I did that, I figured I might as well make a short romp.
Same with Solstice. I was thinking about furball. I wondered how it would look if dink used a pet cat as a throwing weapon. Once I did that, I figured that I might as well make a quick dmod out of out.
Since then I've gotten pretty good with GIMP. I've improved some of my past graphics and made some nice new ones. Do I have to make another dmod? I don't know what else to do with these graphics!

Making Graphics packs can do good, just make sure they can fit in some wacky scenario that Dink would & will wind up in. You could also do something like Skurn did & make easy graphics like the dark beach.
Can never have enough dark beach style files.
Why not make a dark floor graphic next or a dark cliff?
Oh well, I guess I'll be working on it again. Only in my free time tho
Do graphics packs get used very often these days?
I dunno. I hope so. Personally I use graphic packs all the time. Probably have about half of the graphics section downloaded on my computer(the good half).
Using graphic packs is actually a win-win.
The first win is because the person who made those graphics will probably feel pretty good after someone uses them.
The second win is because those graphics will make your dmod spiffy.
SO YEAH. EVERYBODY USE GRAPHIC PACKS
Also, make graphics. Can always find a use for a new enemy or a new weapon sequence for dink.

@Leprochaun, I didn't expect you to have that many packs downloaded, how much space does it take? Have you even looked at the midi packs yet or are you focused on the graphicy goodness that the PC offers?
@Anyone else, Just remember, "Always share your work, even if you don't like it someone else might." A good example would probably be Skurn's chins, I would most likely not use them, but someone might find a use for them to do something. Also as long as the Staff allow it on the site it either means that you did a great job or they pity you that much & don't want to hurt your feelings that day.

how much space does it take?
The folder I store all the downloaded graphics in says 403MB. This doesn't include graphic packs that come as .dmod files though so I'm not entirely sure. Doesn't take up too much space. I still have 798gbs to spare.
