Yeah, it has to do with Dink Smallwood.

In an attempt to get all the gamers on this site together to play games, I decided to make an "OFFICIAL Dink Network Steam Group." Why? I think it would be a fun thing to do when Dinkers aren't dinking to compete for achievements, or blow someone's head off when they get mad at someone at the Dink Network.

Seriously, if you change your name, I'll need to know somehow so this list is as up to date as possible.

The vote thingy I did sometime back is concluded. I know ExDeathEvn threw in a vote before the thread was closed, but whaaaatever. Most I can do is elect a new officer since Quiztis bailed. So, for that, I want you to all fight over it. Throw offensive terms around and maybe even formal requests as to why you want to be officer.

So far, here are the contests we've had thus far -
2011's Team Fortress 2 Free for All saw a few dinkers join to kill eachother. Mostly, it was pillbug since he won.

2011's art contest where Quiztis asked for artwork for his server profile in which schnapper won with a Mog Heavy.

2011's Fanfiction Thingy I forgot about because I am shit (6/27/2016) is when I put this here because I am shit. Pillbug won because he is the strongest being in the galaxy.

Last year's free game giveaway where you had to be quick enough to sit on my lap and tell me which game you wanted. DinkKiller, JugglingDink, Cocomonkey, Leprochaun, and ExDeathEvn won. Counts as a contest right? You had to be quick enough, at least. Whatever, it's Steam related.

So anyways, redink1 had his social media revolution...last year at some point I think, and has already said he'd sticky a Steam thread and put it in partners or whatever, so yeah.

Yes, this is for real this time. I'm not going to spray spam all over the place and shit, and a Steam group isn't really much to manage anyways since we have like, 2 members, and I don't see them spamming for me to clean up too.

And damnit, Dan, could you uncensor fabulous? JugglingDink's id says fabulous.

Also, that Irish guy might be Mrgantoe.

And the person you've got for kenji720 looks more like Gokussj6. I can't fathom how much TF2 he has played seeing as I gave it up around the 1,000 hour mark and he has 5 times as many hours.

Totes added a curator section. Has 20 games so far and anyone can add recommendations.

Should each recommendation have who recommended them, though? All mine don't say that I wrote them. I guess if you want, you can put your username or whatever on a recommendation.

Having names on all of them would be cool though, since it would show that people are working together to recommend games or whatever and not just some faceless recommendations to make it look weird or shallow or something.

Would be cool to have someone host a server for stuff like what Quiztis did. Unless he's still got all that stuff somewhere still and is willing to do it.

I don't think I could handle keeping a server on all the time and whatever DynDNS shit Quiztis did. Think he had a dedicated computer for that too anyways.

Just use a free Amazon EC2 instance to run SteamCMD and set up a server yourself, you scrub.

There's two problems with that -

1: I don't have an idea what the shit Amazon EC2 is.
2: SteamCMD.

Yeah, it was the case from the beginning that Seth was okay with people charging for Dink mods. It's quite a deviation from the norm. It hasn't happened yet though.

Well, I love D&D, so I kind of love Baldur's Gate by association. Been meaning to get hardcore into it for a while now. Just kind of confusing to go from playing 5th Edition D&D rules IRL to 2nd edition AD&D in Baldur's Gate.

i'll have you know i once took on a young dragon in a d&d campaign during a boat ride and tried noping out of there by swimming under the boat and carrying it.

it ended up not being the strategy we went with. later, i tried swimming forward through a giant water beam. the skill check was way too high for me even though i entered shark form to attempt it.

yeah, so, leprochaun's got 31 random ass game keys, and i have 6, so in total that means we have 316 keys. so, how about we randomize the prize so that the best ones aren't taken too quick. or something.

that's a lot of contests to do and not too many games that are contest worthy. brawlhalla is one of the few that were brought up. and that's just a smash bros clone.

we could always do a dmod contest i guess. though, i wouldn't set any deadline. maybe that could be some shit like, we wait until everyone's done/gives up. then the winner is decided by one of those wheels where you throw a knife at the people tied to them. if it hits them, they are not the winner. if it misses, they are considered to be the winner.

another contest idea i have is - you have to prove the existence of extra testicles from space. you have to make it on international news of varying sources and none of them can land of fox because that will automatically add a pile of suspect to the claim that you found ETs. after that, i would try to contact you and fail because you'd be too famous to respond.
