Competition: Write a walkthrough!
Hello everyone. Seeing as some are concerned about the state of things at the moment I have decided to make a competition to hopefully get people to do stuff.
Here's how it will work: You have until August 15th to write a walkthrough on Dink Solutions for a DMOD of your choosing. The best walkthroughs will win stuff.
The prizes will consist of Steam keys for each of the following computer games:
1st: Alan Wake (Windows only)
2nd: Hotline Miami
3rd: Super Meat Boy
There will also be a wooden spoon award/4th prize consisting of Dear Esther.
Upon clicking the link to Dink Solutions on the right of the page, you'll be required to sign up for a new account. The links in the sidebar should instruct you on how to go about making a new walkthrough. Make sure to include stuff like screenshots and headings to make it look really good if you want to win. Send me a message or post in this thread afterwards to let me know you've written it.
If you write more than one for whatever reason, the best one out of those you have written will be judged against everyone else's. I will not make any restrictions on things like DMOD authors writing walkthroughs for games they made themselves. For example Scratcher could write a walkthrough for Lost Forest Romp and it was real good he would win. However you must write a walkthrough for a DMod that doesn't already have one. For example you are not allowed to write a walkthrough for Sharp's Milderr! because there's a pre-existing walkthrough for it.
Collaboration is allowed and your individual contributions to the page will be reviewed and prizes given out according to how I am feeling at the time.
The judging process will be incredibly unfair and will probably end up consisting of me alone. I understand that many of you don't use Steam or Windows in which case I will send you a postcard thanking you for your efforts just as long as you provide me with a suitable address to send it to in the event that you should win.
Seeing as how few people there are paying attention to Dink these days, you could probably write about ABCDEFG and still win a prize, so get writing just in case.

Interesting. If I feel up to it I could write a walkthrough for the greatest D-mod ever made, Dink and the Bonca Or I could do one for my good friend Pillbug's Quest for Not Quite as Lame
Yeah, I'll write up a walkthrough for Moon Child. I'll even include all the secret stuff.
I'd join the contest, but sadly I don't have Steam and likely never will.
Perhaps I could join anyway...

Great initiative. Got them all already though. I'm betting around 8 entries.
looking great and might do aswell but dunno which D-mod and still prefer fiction writing
however i already own a copy of Super meat boy

Cool contest!
One thing though, perhaps it's wiser to let the winner take first pick of a prize instead of assigning a game to it?

Nice! I'll if I can find time to join.

Hahaha, that DMod just keeps getting referenced for the same reason, even if it's a different contest now.
Oh just a question: is there an easy way to list DMods which don't have a walkthrough yet?

You could just look at the list.
Unless you mean knowing what other people are writing walkthroughs for.

Hey Merder I have a few other Steam keys left over as an alternative in case people want them. I still think a postcard is a neato prize, however.
looks like i will be busy this weekend and will see which D-mod i choose
now i'm curious do you have to use someone elses d-mod or can i pick on of my own d-mods?
can i pick on of my own d-mods?

finished the walktrough now how to submit it via contributions?
how to submit it
Really, if you just read the top post, you wouldn't need to ask these questions.
I have another problem, though; I want to add screenshots to my walkthrough, but the file upload seems broken. It says: Could not create directory ‘mwstore://local-backend/local-public/a/a6’.
Can this be fixed? My walkthrough really needs the screenshots...

I totally forgot about this. Oh well. I'll make a walkthrough when I have the time. I didn't have a need for any of the prizes anyways.
I found the walkthrough for Scourger.
But there seems to be a section missing; after the sword is made from the crystals and presented to Dink, he goes back to the old village, the one destroyed by the red wizard and the goblins.
That's all I will say for now; to go further is to spoil it.
But, I ask..could a partial walkthrough be counted as a walkthrough alongside the complete ones?
I was able to edit/add a section. As I take better notes from solutions, I can add to it. Just sayin'

Oh wow, I forgot all about this.
Anyway, first prize goes to Shevek for his walkthrough for Triangle Mover.
Second prize goes to merder for Dink and the 4 towers.
Congratulations to the winners, I will contact you shortly to consult you about your prizes.

so looking forward to my prize

Congratulations, guise. Those are pretty substantial walkthroughs, too, except for the as-of-yet broken links on Trinangle Mover.

Yes, file upload didn't work. I have all the screenshots sitting here on my computer...

Sorry about that, I think I stuffed up a file permission resulting in that "Could not create mwstorage" thing. It should hopefully work now. I also sent you a private message regarding your prize details that you'll have to decide upon.
