Ok, so let's get on with it:
You play as Dink, in the town of Dalloway.
Shortly after arriving in Dalloway, you find out that people have been disappearing from the village. This causes panic amongst the townspeople and they start to fear that they are all in danger, so the King of Dalloway asks Dink to investigate the disappearances and if he can restore peace to Dalloway, he will be greatly rewarded. However, Dink is yet to find out that these disappearances are nothing compared to what is really going on....
Will include:
-Some new scripting ideas that haven't been done before.
-Some new graphics, most of which are not animated, as I suck at making new graphics.
-New spells
-Lots of side quests that the player can find. Completion of certain side quests can change later quests in the game.
Also, some parts include stealth, kind of like in Redink1's Dmod initiation, except I wanted to improve on it, and I have.
I had to re-script the whole thing to get it working the way I wanted, it now includes more stuff:
-You now have to 'creep' past guards when walking near them, or they can hear you.
-It is possible to distract guards, by creating a decoy, example - making noise at another place to make them run over there.
-If you can creep up behind a guard without being seen, you can kill them instantly by hitting them in the back with a sharp, handheld weapon.
Release date is still unknown, as I work on it on and off.
Sometimes I go a few weeks without even touching it.

The Bad cancels out the Good, making it a neutral. Then adding the other good, it becomes good!

I suppose I better post an update on this.
I haven't been working on this much, and when I have worked on it, I've mainly just been adding detail to the screens and fixing some buggy scripts. Every screen is very detailed now. I did make a little more of the story, but not much.
Still don't know the release date, but I'm still working on it and it will be finished.

Update for those who care:
Made some progress, and yes 'some' progress is definitely worth an update for this, since I don't work on it much anymore, mainly because I don't have time, as I have other things to do. I also have to make my LP's for Dink, to keep the people that like those happy, which take up some of the time I probably used to spend Dmodding, but anyway, some progress is better than none right? ... yep, now to the point:
- 7 more map screens completed (9 if you count the 2 incomplete, dull, pieces of crap screens that suck ass, which need more work).
- Now have 421 working scripts, which is a nice update from 415 (also edited first post to say this)
- 1 New spell
- 1 new side quest
- 2 new (not animated) graphics
- 1 new animated graphic
- 1 riddle added into a certain side quest area (designed to rot out your brain and have you screaming like a psychotic pillbug that is totally off it's face)
- Modifcations to intro and storyline, to make them much more interesting and hopefully boredom-free (unless your a n00b, in which case you can suck on the balls of a Peking duck)

Fixed a whole heap of bugs in the parts I've made so far.
New area added.
Made my own night effect, for the reason that the old one wasn't applied to all the tiles, and wasn't applied to any sprites, which isn't very useful in my opinion. I made my own, so I can apply it to all tiles, and all sprites. I applied this effect to every single Dink graphic and tile - so even Dink looks night-ish. I don't know whether I should upload these night graphics though, I'll let you decide.
Note: This whole Dmod isn't set at night, I use the 'load_tile' and 'load_sequence_now' functions in order to load the full set of day or night tiles when needed. It works awesomely.
Also, I made it different, my version has more of a blue-ish tinge to it. I like it that way, fits the atmosphere of my Dmod better too.
If people like it, I'll upload my full set of night tiles and sprites.

I'd really appreciate you releasing those night graphics, would help me enormously That's the one thing I miss when using 32 bit color, the pallette swaps. And I'm not really experienced enough with graphics software to achieve the same results you did, plus I'm color blind which is also obstructive

Just letting people know, this is still going... it's going slowly... but it's still going... I'm just in the midst of redoing some of the previous dialogue, as it was originally made very rough, with the intention of going back to it later once some other areas had been made....
At this point I have also used up over half of the 768 maximum map tiles available.
It's definitely going to be an epic, as it qualifies for one already, and it isn't complete yet...

Progress Update
- 21 new scripts, bringing the total scripts to 467
- I have used roughly 3 quarters of the 768 maxiimum map tiles available - only about 6 of those screens are incomplete at the moment.
I have to modify the way I am using my night sprites.. for some reason the loading of some sprites on the fly, was screwing with the hardness of some other sprites when they were loaded back in... it was quite weird, but since there is only a few night parts in this Dmod, I have found another way to do it, so it's all good now. I've just gotta retest it and tweak a few scripts to get it working properly again.

From what I've read and seen,this is going to be an awesome Dmod!
Can you post a demo?
Demo's are like a cancerous virus. They fall upon the Mod with no warning. It brings a veil of laziness and the munchies over the editor. They feel there job is done and visit there mod less and less in some cases it has even driven there creators insane so they took up moderating the website. The demand for the D-Mod dies down and it makes you wonder did the D-Mod ever really stand a chance in the "real" files anyhow?
Sabre should atleast relaese a demo of CC3 because that never going to be finshed anyway.
I have recently started working on this again.
Fixed lots of bugs in the parts I've already made and added a lot of extra detail.
This Dmod is coming along nicely, if I do say so myself. I decided to remove a couple of the new graphics, simply because I decided they didn't fit, and I prefer them not to be there at all, than to look unrealistic compared to the rest of the graphics. When I say a couple, I say it literally... there a still new graphics in the Dmod, I was just unhappy with these two I removed. I might remake them, but they aren't that essential.
Other than that. I just finished creating a cool new boss... which I have been going backwards and forwards trying to fix for a few months.. and now he's just about fully working, which is a big motivator to keep working on it. This was one of those scripts that crush all motivation to continue, and now that it's done, it's flipped around and I'm gonna work on it a lot more.
Added another side quest... also added a quest log, because it could get quite confusing for the player otherwise.

I've made a HEAP of progress on this Dmod in the last two weeks. Thanks to Kyle for the massive motivation boost he gave me over Skype recently.
It's still got a long way before it's released, but I've gone through what I've created so far and thoroughly checked it over for bugs, and fixed them all. I think there was a total of around 30 bugs that I found and fixed.
Also got a new enemy sprite in the works that I'm adding into the Dmod, all credit in regards to creation of it goes to Iplaydink, since he's putting it together for me.
As a side note, I might be looking for early beta testers soon, and when I say early.. I mean the game is no where near complete yet, but since it's going to be such a big dmod, I want a couple of early beta testers to find any bugs I may have missed so far, rather than leaving it until the end and then finding out the dmod needs to be postponed for ages to allow for bug fixing.
If you volunteer for this you should already know that this process may destroy the fun of playing the full Dmod when it's finally released.. but if you don't mind, then please volunteer! (Like I said: I only need one or two at this stage.)

I haven't completely decided yet, but I'd say there is a very high chance I will volunteer to beta test. I don't think seeing the first part of the game will ruin the final release for me, but if it is as good as it sounds, there is a chance it may make waiting for it a bit harder.

For my D-Mod to be done in 4 days, I'd need no less than 5 people experienced with DinkC working on it non-stop because it's quite a ways from being finished. I put some clever (or stupid) dialogue on the tree at least.

I opened it, scrolled through the map, found his in-game representation of him which was in a secret area, and replaced his character with an old man. I then ate a sandwitch, closed the dmod and thought maybe I should have put some more motivation into that sandwitch, I mean seriously, it tasted like procrastination.

Since a lot of this game is set mostly in underground areas, I have spent some time creating some more 'overworld' quests so that the player can enjoy some green grass, trees and sunshine (unless it's night time lol).

Ok ok... here's the proper update. (Yes I'm double posting. Just in case someone already read the previous post and isn't expecting an edit, so I'm bumping this).

- I've gone back and expanded A LOT of what was already made, added a lot more stuff.
- Made things more entertaining, and made sure any 'fetch quests' I previously made no longer felt boring, and also had more purpose to them.

- Added a new area.
- Added unlockable alternate hero quests of characters from the main story, which are playable form the title screen after unlocked, to further expand on the story.

It is with great regret that I may have to delete the tree on screen #143 after some recent updates to the mapping. I feel it doesn't fit anymore...

Over the last 3 days I have put over 20 hours of work into developing this Dmod.
Half of that was me going back over all my scripts I've already written, cleaning them up, commenting them (I have a bad habit of never commenting my scripts, and they end up a mess), and fixing every possible bug/glitch I could find. I did full debug test, found a total of 42 bugs and fixed them all. I also rewrote some scripts to make them more efficient and to use less variables and stuff.
Now I can move onto making the final part of the game, which still has a bit of work, but the good news is that now the majority of bug fixing is done, so that's a lot less I have to do when the dmod is finally finished.
I will still need beta testers though, but not yet, I will say when I'm ready. Preferably the same people that tested this previously, if possible.

It's very similar to before, but I think it looks slightly more awesome this way and fits more with the Dmod itself ( you'll see what I mean by that when you play it, although this might give away a hint about what "The Dark Avilan" is... many people have asked. )

Well, I suppose it is a good time now to start a guessing game of what the heck dark avilan is.
My guess number one:
avilan is the anagram for anvil, but an extra 'a' slipped into the word.
My guess number two:
The dark villain couldn't quite fit the title screen, so you rewrote villain to avilan to solve the problem, and add a little mystery to the title of the dmod itself.

actually, he sent me the dmod files before deleting them. i'll describe it.

Although the last 3 - 4 weeks I haven't worked on anything, I've been busy with family stuff, and medical stuffs. Meaning that this won't be done next month, it'll be done early 2018, when I start working on it again

That projection was made before I started training for my new career.
As of December 2017, one month after I made that projection, the Dmod was put on hold, along with everything else in my life, all I do now is study, stress out, and be a social reject until this training is over, then I can resume having a life.

I did a little mapping, fixed some bugs and went through every script. ALL 616 OF THEM, EVERY LINE - rewrote a hell of a lot, changed some stuff to make it work better and save variables here and there and combined a few scripts together for convenience.
This is the second time I've overhauled and rewrote most of my scripts. They are much cleaner now, with lots of comments to explain wtf is going on.
Total number of scripts has gone from 616 to 591.

Well I'm moving house atm so I don't have access to my Pc for a few days. When I hook it back up the first thing I'll do is edit the video tutorials(which I've already finished recording) for push and pull, upload that, and then I'll work on other stuff.

Every now and then I open the dmod and do like a minimal amount of work.
Like yesterday, I added a piece of grass. Yeh 1 grass sprite. Then I thought that was too much work, so I clipped that 1 grass sprite till it was down to 1 shred of grass.
So yeh, I added 1 blade of grass to a screen.
If that's not a solid effort, I don't know what is.

Ok, so here's a log of what I've currently been up to within the dead world of Dinking:
The Dark Avilan
- There is 1 or 2 side quests I am re-working. They don't flow well
- A chunk of the main story in the middle is being modified to make it a bit more interesting and give some more needed back story
- FIxed a bunch of bugs, and am in the midst of doing a full thorough playthrough of what I have so far to find and fix any remaining bugs.
Push and Pull
- Version 2.05 is coming along nicely. LOTS of changes and improvements, but not quite ready yet, a couple more to be made - https://github.com/Robj91/pushandpull/blob/main/changelog.txt
Rthef (project name shortened to at least maintain some secrecy, I dunno?)
- A puzzle-focused dmod with a twist I canned years ago, a certain someone motivated me to revive it and is helping develop it.

- This one isn't really a secret since it's been revealed on and off in the past randomly in different places. Collab project between 3 Dinkers, already has a lot of promise and a great atmosphere, but at the moment is probably suffering the most from "too many projects syndrome" and has been temporarily shelved until at least 1 of the other projects are complete.

probably about 40% complete, I'd say. Every single thing previously written in version 4.0 of the DinkC reference is being thoroughly tested across all version by yours truly, and there are many errors and blatantly incorrect things being rectified. Some tips and examples being added as well for some functions that I feel benefits from having them.

I think I speak for (at least a few) others who consider
themselves part of the DN, when I say we have been
excited about this dmod and have been waiting a long
time to see it, especially as it is being produced
from one of our premier members. Please finish it!
But don't make us wait a year and a half! If you would
not mind me giving it much the same treatment I
gave Sabretrout's "Valhalla" to generate my "Crowns of
Stone" dmod, I'd be happy to "take it over" sometime
later this year.
I hope to be finished with my current effort, "Periculo
Island", before June of 2022 and would be
happy to start working on TDA sometime after "Periculo
Island" is released.

Well turns out my sinking motivation came back and I'm working on this again. So much still to do though before I get it to a state in which Id like it released. I'll post a breakdown update later

I have been working on this, indeed. Radio silence is my goto. I dunno, I don't wanna build too much more overhype or exceitment, it's counter-productive for my own self-critical mindset.

TDA is now 458MB. That's a substantial size. I'll leave this post at that for now, and come back with a more specific update around the start of July I think.

It was indeed moving. I cried for hours thinking how Dink was cruelly betrayed by the builder of bridges in this dmod, allowing him to plummet deeper into a dungeon, or cave, or something.

Ok, so let's get on with it:
You play as Robj, in the town of The Dink Network.
Shortly after arriving in The Dink Network, you find out that people have been disappearing from the forum. This causes panic amongst the dmodders and they start to fear that they won't play their dmods, so the King of The Dink Network asks Robj to create The Dark Avilan and if he can restore peace to The Dink Network, he will be greatly rewarded. However, Robj is yet to find out that these disappearances are nothing compared to what is really going on....
