This is what I've been waiting for ever since I played Dink Smallwood for the first time, 6 years ago.
This might be the best development file ever released on the dink network.
This is what we thought was impossible, It's even more fun than killing ducks!
Ofcourse I'm talking about the splendid file 'Chickens!'.

This file includes some beautiful graphics of chickens and roosters wich all are perfect. They have lot's of frames in every directions and just looks awesome. Upon death they explode with a burst of feathers. I envy your drawing skills, Sparrowhawk!

This file also have some clever scripting wich make the chickens run around in panic if you hit one of them (as I'm a big fan of the Zelda games I've allways loved chickens in panic!). Also when killing the hens (wich is even more fun than killing ducks, I tell you!) The rooster will rampage, chasing you over the screen picking your feet. It looks hilarious!

So just this would make a great development file, but that's not everything! Sparrowhawk also included a dmod with the graphics and the scripts in, showing us how the chickens react, even if we are to lazy to put this in our own dmod. In the dmod are four screens, the start screen, one with chickens, one with chickens and roosters and one with chickens, roosters and some nice calm music played in the background.

This file is flawless and deservs the highest score possible, 9.9.

Love! True love!
What came first, the DMOD or the chicken? In this case, the chicken. Fully scripted, awesome looking chickens I might add. 'Twas a normal day, when out of nowhere, a news post!

I hurled myself into the link in the hopes that someone had made a chicken script and graphics. I was only halfway correct. Sparrowhawk made the stuff, not Someone. Anyway, I fired up the DMOD, laughing at the sign when I tried to go up. After my amusement, I followed the directions to the screens with the chickens. I gazed upon their beauty for a moment before mindlessly ripping off their heads and kicking it around like a tin can. I go to a different screen. There's a rainbow chicken! But, it wasn't a rainbow chicken. It was a rooster! I needn't waste time with the pretty colored thing, so I continue with my quest to eradicate all DMODS of farm animals and spotted mushrooms. However, the rooster had different ideas. It rushed me, a fiery look in it's eyes. Repent! Repent! Satan walks the Earth, taking the form of a beast to evil to comprehend! The demonic rainbow rooster impaled it's beak into the ankles of my character. He responded to this action with an outcry of pain. I returned the favor with a friendly punch the rooster's general area. It took a while, but it fell beneath my onslaught of punches and terror. It was over. Or was it?

I give it a 9.7, I think it deserves a 9.9, but I'm just leaving a bit in there for any improvements you might come up with.

In memory of Skull.
This is amazing!! It's a nice variation if you are sick of the slender, silent ducks and all of the blood. Now, you can have somewhat square chickens who expel feathers and react to the death of a fellow chicken. This is great for having more than pigs and ducks for your (harmless) creatures. The roosters are great because when you hit them enough around other enemies, you get a mess of blood and pretty colors.

I give a 9 only because I know that the chicken sounds would drive me mad eventually, otherwise it's wonderful.

Sparrowhawk made a perfect little file to add to Dink when your bored of Ducks. It's Chickens! The chickens' blood is replaced by feathers. When the Chickens are attacked when on the same screen as the roosters are, the rooster go ape-sh!t all over you! It's perfect to spiff up any DMOD your in the process of development and is well deserved of Best Development File of Q3 2009. It even has it's own DMOD to show you an example of Chickens! in action.

I've come to get my meat
This is a graphics pack featuring chickens. It comes with lines for Dink.ini and other vital files which allow you to use the chickens and their sounds in your own production. The scripts can be edited to make an awesomely strong chicken (for a boss), or a talking chicken (in a magical based mod).
The graphics are great, but what really makes this impressive is the reaction of the other chooks when they're hit. They run around in a fright for a little while before returning to their former state. It is little touches like these that impress me.
Of course, Sparrowhawks scripts are commented throughout and are actually quite fun to read. If you haven't, check out iknewit.c for a message. Also, keep on punching.
