bug?
In the original DinkEdit(I didn't bother to get the new ones)I made a screen(400)and went to the screen next to it(399). For some strange reason, it was exactly the same as 400, so I deleted everything on screen 399. When I went bact to 400, everything was gone. Is this a bug?

It's normal that a new screen is starts as a copy of the last screen you made. This isn't a bug, it's intended to help with createing long hallways, fields of grass or the like. It's NOT normal for editing the new screen to mess up the first one. Test it again. Maybe it was just a one-time glitch, or you misunderstood what happened (no offence, it's easy to do when learning new software) but if it does the same thing again something is wrong. You might try reinstalling it.

You had screenmatch on, or not? ( thinks: idiot ) ;}  and I know why 399 is the same as 400, to prevent that. Make a screen with no sprites or decoration on it and when you want to make a new screen, go to that empty screen, open it, close it, go back and make the screen you want, and it will be empty,  dink remembers all last things.

I distinctly remembered that screen match is off, I created 399 before adding the sprites to 400 and I just tried it again and it was the same result. Does anyone else know?

Were you perhaps working with different visions? If you'd changed vision to 1 on screen 399, created 399, then went to 400, changed vision to 0 and went back to 399, vision 0 would still be active; hence you dont see anything untill you change vision to 1 - and vice versa ofcourse.
