Come up with a rough idea of the story and start work...
But that IS NOT a good way to do it (for a large d-mod anyway) that's probably why Crosslink isn't finished yet. Too often I come to a point and think, "What now?" Then I have to stop work, think about what to fill in that area/time and maybe even go back and change somehting to make it work.
: So, when you want to make a new D-mod, how are you get things started? First make a map, or first a story, or first graphics, or first scripting... or do you just start out with a vague idea, get going and see where it'll end?
: Just curious how yall do it... :)
: I'm into the last thing: just an idea and then get going...
mm, I do it this way:
1. Think, get at least 2 ideas
2. Grab a piece of paper and make the map
3. Make a small piece of the map
4. Make some scripts
5. Look if the scripts works
6. Make another piece of the map
7. More scripting
8. Add new graphics
9. Give the new graphics a script
10. Place them on the map
11. If they work, quit and delete them and use them as a boss or something
MAIN:
12. Make another piece of the map
13. Script a little bit :)
GOTO MAIN;
